Why do women need prenatal massages? Why is it so important to get regular prenatal massage?
Prenatal Massage, according to American Pregnancy Association, has many benefits.
- Hormone regulation
- Reducing swelling
- Improvement of nerve pain
- Reducing back pain
- Reducing join pain
- Reduce edema
- Reduce headaches and muscle tension
- Reducing stress and anxiety
- Improving oxygen in soft tissue
- Better sleep
However, the American Pregnancy Association also lists precautions to prenatal massage.
- Body positioning
- Appropriate massage therapists
- Pregnancies that have special circumstances
These are important points that American Pregnancy Association has pointed out. Each woman needs to make sure that they disclose that they are pregnant. You want to make sure you are with a confident massage therapist. If a woman does not disclose that she is pregnant than she will not get the safe and proper massage she needs.
Many women state that they do not disclose that they are pregnant so that they do not get a “feather touch” massage. Or so they don’t get a massage therapist who “just rubs lotion” on them. However, when you do a little research and make sure you are going to a certified massage therapist you will not have these issues. The mother to be will be with a confident therapist who gave give you the massage that they want. Whether that is a feather touch massage or a more firm pressure. Gabrielle Mogan at Gazelle Medical Spa & Aesthetics is certified in pre and perinatal massage by Carol Osborne.
When a mother to be has a qualified and certified massage therapist she should not be uncomfortable during her prenatal massage. Laying on her side at home and during a massage is not typically the same experience. The massage therapist will align her body so that the mother’s spin is in line. This stops her from the uncomfortable feeling of laying on their side.
If a woman has a special condition they should always being a doctor’s note to their massage therapist. It’s important to make sure that a doctor agrees that she is able to have a massage.
Mother’s need to remember take care of themselves because they are so busy taking care of their child that sometimes the neglect their own health. Help a mother to be by giving her a hour massage with a qualified massage therapist.
I want to talk about the HydraFacial MD Treatment and why everyone needs to try it.
According to the HydraFacial Website a HydraFacial MD is, “a non-invasive, multistep treatment that combines the benefits of next-level hydradermabrasion, a chemical peel, automated painless extractions (no pinching!) and a special delivery of Antioxidants, Hyaluronic Acid and Peptides. It does all of this in one quick treatment that delivers real results without downtime or irritation.”
I have had the HydraFacial MD Treatment done by two different spas. The difference at Gazelle Medical Spa & Aesthetics (which is the best spa to choose) and the other spa was the gentle pressure on my face and the LED Light Therapy at the end. (I received Blue Light Therapy to kill bacteria and it is great for my oily and acne skin.)
Extractions! (Click this link to find out what facial extractions are according to Associated Skin Care Professionals.) The HydraFacial MD’s extraction portion of the treatment was actually pain free and I really didn’t feel any pinching.
My face always feels hydrated after a HydraFacial. Which is kind of a miracle. Around my chin is always dry and sometimes my cheeks and forehead feel uncomfortable because they feel so dry. My face was hydrated and had a noticeable glow.
Blue LED Light Therapy! I loved it! After my HydraFacial was complete I was given protective wear for my eyes. Then the state of the art Futura Face LED Light Therapy was put on me for about 15 minutes. It was so relaxing that I was having a hard time staying awake. I can’t believe at Gazelle Medical Spa & Aesthetics the Light Therapy was included in the HydraFacial Treatment. If you want to have longer Light Therapy they do charge a reasonable fee for it. They customize the color of the light to your focus; mine was blemishes so I received Blue Light. The experts will talk to you about what works best for you. The fact that the LED Light Therapy is included with EVERY HydraFacial is another aspect that set Gazelle Medical Spa & Aesthetics above other spas. Again, making them the best HydraFacial choice in Scottsdale.
There was no downtime and my face was glowing right after the facial! I had dinner plans a couple hours after my facial. I was able to put on some light makeup (I didn’t want to completely cover up my glowing face).
So let’s recap my experience. My extractions were painless, my face was hydrated with antioxidants and peptides, I had an amazing LED Light Therapy at the end of my treatment and my skin was noticeably glowing! Ultimately, the best HydraFacial I have had! I can’t wait for my next treatment!

What is the difference between a Medical Spa and a Traditional Spa?
Medical spas are supervised by a medical doctor (in their case the doctor is Board Certified with the American Board of Dermatology) and offer medical treatments along with treatments you would find at a spa.
